Mike Price BSc DipM MBA CEng, Director

Mike has over 17 years of experience facilitating the strategic thinking of senior executives across a range of industries, and for the past seven years he has been teaching strategy in Europe, the USA, Saudi Arabia, India, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He designs and delivers programmes for Better Strategy's large corporate clients, professional services firms and the public sector, and teaches at London Business School's Centre for Management Development and at Henley Business School.

After ten years of experience in technical research, business management and strategic planning in British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and a spell at MOD(PE) (now QinetiQ), Mike joined the global management and technology consultants Arthur D. little (ADL) in 1994. While with ADL he advised numerous European companies on corporate and business strategy, the management of change, and conducted strategic due diligence for private equity firms.

For three years Mike was a board member of ADL's Global Strategy and Organisation Practice and was responsible for:
  • Growing the UK Strategy Practice to become one of the most profitable practices in the firm's London office
  • Pioneering the use of innovative software tools to aid clients' strategic decision-making
  • Leading the teaching faculty for the firm's internal strategy training programmes.
In early 2000, Mike joined Imparta Ltd to direct the development and launch of the Strategy CoPilot computer simulation and its associated workshops. Strategy CoPilot won many industry awards and attracted a loyal client base.

At the end of 2002, Mike founded Better Strategy Ltd to better serve the executive education market with learning programmes that develop leaders' strategic thinking skills, while continuing to use Strategy CoPilot and other simulations where appropriate.

In 2003, with the International Academy of Board Member Development (IABMD) and the support of AIG South Africa, the liability insurance company, Mike developed the architecture of what is believed to be the first computer-assisted simulation to assess the competences of non-executive board members.

Mike is a founding member of the Advisory Board of the University of Bath School of Management. He has also been a director of an Internet retailing business since 1998.
